At the end of November, Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG of Herdecke brought a new laboratory online for chemical analysis. The company has invested here not only in cutting edge laboratory equipment, but has also significantly strengthened the team led by Dr. Detlef Stöckert. The new ‘Analytics Department’ is taking on an important key function between research and development on the one side and production on the other. Its role will include, for instance, analysing and evaluating new formulae. Refined methods of analysis will help here in better understanding the ‘chemistry’ of the approaches taken and thus in continually optimising product quality. For ongoing quality assurance batches will also be regularly taken out of the live production process and analysed. This ensures that the global network of coating companies gets supplied with products of a consistently high quality.
