The new tech centre of Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG, Herdecke, in South Korea was officially opened on 11 June 2009. Specialists for surface coating technology from the automobile and subcontracting sectors, together with partners from surface coating companies, for example those employing MKS systems such as those of the DELTA-PROTEKT® range came to Incheon to view the new facility. With immediate effect, the new tech centre will be capable of coating samples and small series itself and testing to the specifications of the customers. State-of-the-art measuring equipment is employed in this, including a friction coefficient testbench, a salt spray chamber and cyclical chamber. In addition, the specific determination of coating thickness and creation of polished sections are also possible at the site in Korea. It is now possible to supply the other Asian markets in China, Taiwan, Japan, India and Thailand directly from Incheon.
The technical network of Dörken MKS-Systeme will continue to grow, however. A further tech centre is due to open this year in the US, with one in China in the planning stage. Together with the technology centre at the company headquarters in Herdecke and the Tech-Center in Brazil, this means that in future there will be five establishments in operation capable of offering qualified, on-site technical support to users of micro layer corrosion protection systems in its three core markets - the EU, the USA, South America and the Asian growth market.
