Corrosion protection for agricultural equipment - Dörken MKS at the Agritechnica

Corrosion protection for agricultural equipment - Dörken MKS at the Agritechnica

When the decision makers of the global agricultural equipment industry meet at the leading global fair for the sector, Agritechnica, in Hanover from 10 to 16 November 2019, Dörken MKS will also be there. On the fair stand in Hall 2 / stand B48 the CORROSION EXPERTS from Herdecke will present the latest developments in corrosion protection for the industry.

Component-specific protection against corrosive attack

Over 2,750 exhibitors from 51 countries are set to present their new developments this year at the Agritechnica, as well as discussing issues regarding the future of crop production and agricultural equipment. Dörken MKS is using this opportunity to impress upon the trade audience the necessity of high-performance corrosion protection. Because the parts and components fitted to equipment, machinery and also buildings in the agricultural sector are subjected to numerous stresses in daily use, including weather, mechanical stress and chemical influences – and consequently need to be provided with effective protection against corrosion.

Zinc flake systems compared to other coatings

On the stand of Dörken MKS the corrosion protection experts illustrate the surface coating systems typically used and demonstrate their limitations compared to high-performance zinc flake systems. The comparison includes KTL coatings, KTL in combination with powder and ZnNi surfaces. Tobias Schmitz, Key Account Manager at Dörken MKS, explains: “Our zinc flake coatings in particular have proven themselves in practice over many years and offer long-lasting, reliable protection for components. This is what we aim to show at the fair.” Consisting of a base coat and a special topcoat, the zinc flake systems achieves long-lasting cathodic corrosion protection even with coats as thin as 8–20 μm and also secures functional properties such as resistance to aggressive cleaning agents or fertilisers. This enables the functionability and lifetime of the components to be extended.

New: Room temperature curing  zinc flake coating

In the field of zinc flake products Dörken MKS is also presenting a completely new development in Hannover: coatings that cures at room temperature. These are applied in a spray process and are particularly well-suited for parts and components that are too large, too bulky or too temperature sensitive for the standard drying process. Details regarding this can be obtained from the experts on the company stand.

A tip for those who are interested: in the scope of the fair support programme Klaus Gradtke (Key Account Manager Global Sales) will be discussing “Zinc flake - high corrosion resistance in the agricultural industry” in the System & Components Future Lounge 2019 from 10.30 to 11.00 on 13 November.
