Dörken MKS awarded prize for best employer for the second time

Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG was again honoured with the TOP JOB award for outstanding employer qualities on 22nd February 2019 by former Minister of Economic Affairs Wolfgang Clement in Berlin. The award, presented by the Centre for Employer Attractiveness, zeag GmbH, is given to companies that consistently promote a healthy and at the same time high-performance workplace culture.

Dörken MKS-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG in Herdecke are the European market leaders for micro-layer corrosion protection systems and a member of the Dörken Group, which was founded over 125 years ago. With over 35 years of experience, top technological performance and teamwork, they see themselves as corrosion experts and enjoy an excellent international reputation with customers and employees alike.

This is the second time that the company from Herdecke has been honoured for its commitment to a healthy and performance-enhancing workplace culture. This was also confirmed by the scientifically sound survey of Dörken MKS employees conducted by "Top Job", which forms the basis of the award. The company achieved very good results especially in terms of job satisfaction - which was also rewarded by the high-quality jury.

With a clear philosophy, a pronounced culture of trust and working together, Dörken MKS creates the basis for how its employees identify with the company and the high motivation and commitment of the entire team. "We support our employees whenever necessary. This also includes our central idea of demanding and promoting performance. Everyone is trained as an expert in their field," explains Managing Director Dr. Gerhard Reusmann. In line with this requirement, the company offers its employees individual development opportunities in a host of different areas. This includes communication training and English courses as well as change management or conflict management seminars, attractive incentives and health programmes.

Managing Director Dr. Martin Welp explains: "Anyone who enjoys delivering great performance in a great atmosphere is in the right place at Dörken MKS. At Dörken MKS, employees encounter flat hierarchies and creative spaces that they have to use on their own responsibility. The Top Job award shows us that we are on the right track with this strategy".

About the award

Since 2002 medium-sized companies with "Top Job" have been working on their qualities as employers. The scientific management of the benchmarking is in the hands of Prof. Dr. Heike Bruch and her team from the Institute for Leadership and Personnel Management at the University of St. Gallen. Mentor of the project is Federal Minister of Economics (ret.) Wolfgang Clement.
