Exemplary teamwork

Date:

Topic:

Exemplary teamwork

Description:

Achieving more together: The design and realisation of the new electroplating drum unit of Reisser Schraubentechnik in Ingelfingen is an excellent example of co-operative project management.

Collaborative partnership leads to requirements-specific plant technology

The goal of Reisser management was to expand the existing coating capacity of the screw manufacturer and thereby increase productivity. A particular aim was also to offer the long-standing customer Eaton – a worldwide leading provider of pipe connector systems for hydraulics – an even broader spectrum for the coating of diverse parts. Against this background the company, part of the Würth Group, joined with the corrosion experts at Dörken MKS and the plant manufacturers A.S.T. and Forplan Surface Technology to construct an electroplating drum unit that is regarded as one of the most modern worldwide in the field of alloy-free zinc technology. Matthias Basler (Dörken Application Engineer) was particularly impressed with the trust-based co-operation of all participants: “In a very early stage of the planning all of the parties with their specialist know-how and experience were brought together. Throughout the project the interaction was very open and highly collaborative.”

State-of-the-art technology for the highest coating quality

Fluid parts for Eaton will also be coated on the new unit. The high requirements of corrosion protection mean that the DELTA-PROZINC® galvanic zinc system is employed. To enable a particularly efficient, one-stop coating process, in co-ordination with the other project planners Forplan employed state-of-the-art centrifuge technology as well as a special furnace drying procedure. This ensures especially gentle treatment of the parts during and after topcoat application and enables the even distribution of heat in the drying process, thus achieving a consistently high standard of coating quality of the DELTA-PROZINC® coating - for optimal corrosion protection.
