Bolts, relevant items for coatings and friction measurement

The task of bolts is to connect two or more components frictionally. However, in order to guarantee a secure bolt connection, both knowledge about preload force and tightening torque are elementary as well as knowledge about coefficients of friction. They are a criterion of high-quality surfaces.

The aim of this seminar is to impart basic knowledge about bolt connections.

  • Knowledge about bolts, geometry, strength classes and threads
  • Influence of surface
  • Physical size “friction” in bolt fasteners/nuts and its influence on torque
  • Determination of coeffcients of friction DIN EN ISO 16047
  • Further customer specifications
  • Practical measurements, programming tips

Target group

  • Laboratory personnel directly at the test bench
  • Application engineers

For over 30 years we have focused on fastenings and coefficients of friction, and yet we still encounter questions that have not been asked before.
